Founded by Indian filmmakers Ketan Mehta and Deepa Sahi, Cosmos-Maya is a Singapore and India based animation company that produces high quality 3D as well as 2D animation content and is one of the market leaders in original Indian Kids’ animation content with one of the largest portfolios of popular kids’ brands in the world, those which lend themselves beautifully to licensing and merchandising.

The company boasts of a 14,000 sq ft state-of-the-art studio located in Film City in Mumbai. It has expanded to other locations in Mumbai and Hyderabad, with a total area across its studio facilities in excess of 70,000 sq ft. 

With the backing of American Private Equity Firm KKR, which has a controlling stake in the company, and capitalizing on the popularity of its character brands, the company is strategically expanding its L&M business. 15 of its intellectual properties are currently on air, including one of the most popular Indian TV shows in the world, ‘Motu Patlu’; and ‘Selfie with Bajrangi’, the Indian animation IP to feature on a general entertainment channel network, through Star TV. 

The bouquet of its YouTube channels under the umbrella brand, WowKidz boasts of a subscriber base of over 38 million and the total view count of over 18 billion as of Jan 2020.
