HOW SUPPLIERS ARE MANAGING THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS.

  • With the Corona-virus crisis continuing to impact society, what role do you see private label suppliers playing?
    Ans:
The current pandemic has disrupted the supply chain management across industries and is a major challenge going forward.
In this scenario we expect private label suppliers to emerge as a major source across geographies to cater to demand and bridge the gaps.
The locational advantages which these companies enjoy and distributed supply chain management at their end is a major strength to cope up with the present scenario.
Further this segment shall create employment as it emerges more stronger with the government of India Initiative to promote the local manufacturing and brands.
Private label manufacturers are working round the clock, when most operations are shut down and everyone protects themselves from the possibility of Corona Virus infection. We are making diagnostic, protection, food, Healthcare and other essential products of daily need so that our society remains safe and Healthy with the best possible facilities.
  • Do you see this as an opportunity to further increase the share of private labels in key essential categories?
    Ans:
The organized retail segment is now growing very fast and more so during and after the pandemic owing to the issues of Hygiene and Safety.
The cost and availability of the Brand is a major driver and acceptance of the product . The private label in organized retail and bulk purchase segment proves to be economical as is the trend globally.
Going forward there is no reason why private label segment will not grow and give tough competition to Branded products owing to its easy availability, Good quality and better prices.
  • Any measures adopted to ensure there is not much shortage in supply of essential goods?
Ans: The Government and administration at different levels are taking measures to ensure regular and smooth supplies of the Essential goods but there are many hurdles on ground. The Movement of products under the Essential category still needs to be provided more relaxation by the administration.
We have been working very closely with our vendors and employees to ensure that the problems which they encounter are addressed at the earliest to avoid any disruption in the manufacturing process.
Further we have identified suppliers who are in close proximity to supply the material and have provided them with administrative and financial support as well to maintain continuity.
  • Have you introduced any new product categories to meet existing demand?
    Ans: Our company has introduced and offer Private label and contract manufacturing of the following Hygiene and Immunity products in our endeavour towards fight against the Pandemic. The team has been working relentlessly to ensure that quality products reach the hands of consumers at the earliest. The products are as under;
    • Hand wash
    • Body wash
    • Fruits and vegetable Wash
    • Laundry Sanitizer
    • Ayush Kwath
    • Ayurvedic Herbal Immunity Booster products
  • As the situation improves, what advice do you have for the private label industry?
Ans: We expect the situation to improve in the near future bringing life back to New normal. The Private label industry has to be more focused on Quality and Economies of scale to remain competitive despite the plethora of opportunities that are fast emerging.
Despite the opportunities in a growing economy like ours the industry has been more organized and has a strong platform to raise its voice and ensure a level playing field.
