Candor Foods Pvt Ltd was established in the year 2013. We are in the business of processing and packaging dry fruits, dates and nuts. Candor Foods is a vibrant company that strives to provide its customers with products of global standards. We are strategically located in the heart of Mumbai’s MIDC, Industrial zone. We have direct import relations with our partners based out of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, UAE, USA and Israel. A prominal access to cold storage facility and a state of the art processing & packaging facility enables us to leverage competency across quality, volume and price.
Our facility is spread over 34,000 sq.ft. has been BRC Certified for food processing and packaging.

HOW SUPPLIERS ARE MANAGING THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS

  • With the Corona-virus crisis continuing to impact society, what role do you see private label suppliers playing?
    Ans:
    With this pandemic which is far from over the importance of private label suppliers in the supply chain matrix is further heightened. Leaving the modern retail owners and ecommerce players to focus on the end-customer service/deliveries, the Private Label players have ensured product availability during restricted operation conditions. During these pandemic times we at Candor Foods are making sure that we serve all our clients like Amazon, Foodhall, Spencers, Nature’s Basket, Grofers, Big Basket, Future Group, Spar amongst others with utmost care and meeting up with their requirements.
  • Do you see this as an opportunity to further increase the share of private labels in key essential categories?
    Ans:
    Increasing their market share at this point is not on our minds, Our sole focus during the times of COVID-19 lockdown was to deliver the essentials to our customers who inturn would service the consumers at large. For example Supplying dates during the time of Ramzan was very critical and we worked towards fulfilling the orders.
    At this juncture due to the lockdown sales have dipped to almost 30 percent of the pre Lockdown period. Going forward its bound to rise, as the private label suppliers will share the burden of their selling partners.
  • Any measures adopted to ensure there is not much shortage in supply of essential goods?
    Ans:
    We have taken care that our production lines are running with reduced manpower, adhering to social distancing, hygiene and other requisite permissions from the government agencies.
  • Have you introduced any new product categories to meet existing demand?
    Ans:
    Not needed as we are currently working on existing products which are essentials products
  • As the situation improves, what advice do you have for the private label industry?
    Ans:
    All businesses will have to learn to live with COVID-19 and so does our industry. Food Operators have an added responsibility to ensure that the products are manufactured and packed in the most hygienic environment, the labour remains healthy and free from illness and state of the art measures are taken including automation where there is least human contact in the days to come.
  • SUPPLIERS SHARE STORIES FROM FRONT LINES
    The last few months have posed challenges to our team and I believe we have taken it very well. While coming regularly to office have shown the maturity by showing their commitment to work and to follow the law.
    Many of our team members were involved in providing for food to the people on street, help the local police, gurudwaras by offering their services to make food parcels for distributions. As the leader of the pack, my team has made me extremely proud in these crisis.
